Audio CD Released
November 2002
The soundtrack from Animusic's first video album has been released on audio CD. The CD contains all seven pieces from the DVD/VHS plus three previously unreleased tracks. All were composed and produced by Wayne Lytle, founder and owner of Animusic.
"It's nice that so many people have specifically asked for a CD of the music. Apparently a lot of people want to listen to it in their car, and I guess the DVD really doesn't lend itself to that," says Lytle.
The music has been re-mixed to be more suitable for listening without the accompanying visuals. For example, on the video album the audio level for each instrument is mixed and panned to follow the relative motion of the instruments on the screen. These variations have been eliminated for the audio CD, resulting in a static stereo mix.
Most sound effects have also been removed (although the water in Aqua Harp and the grinding gears in Drum Machine remain). The music tracks have also been re-mastered to make them as dynamic and clear as possible.
The CD was released in early November, and before an announcement was made, it was already being ordered on the online store.
